Cheesesteak Sliders
Updated: Oct 17, 2022
The oven is where all of the flavors come together The cheese is oh so ooey-gooey. The insides of the buns soak up the sauce from the sauteed peppers and onions. And, the tops get golden brown from the garlic butter. Oh boy am I hungry just writing this!

Ingredients
2 Pounds ground italian sausage (I use 1 pound sweet, 1 pound mild, but use what you like!) You can also use ground beef
2 Bell peppers (I like color, yellow, red, and orange)
1 Onion
Avocado oil
2 Garlic cloves
1 Tablespoon oregano
Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
Sweet Hawaiian rolls or any slider roll
Mayo (Kewpie is always the go to)
Cheese (I use American and Gouda but use what you like)
Butter
Fresh Parsley
Directions
Preheat oven to 350
Slice onion and bell peppers into long strips
Cook italian sausage, break up similar to ground beef
Add a dash or two of Avocado oil and cook onions and peppers until soften
Add oregano, salt/pepper and few dashes of Worcestershire to the onions and peppers turn off heat
Slice the slider rolls in half keep together don't break them up into individual sliders
Spread mayo over the bottom of slider rolls and place in the baking dish
Add a layer of cheese (I put American on bottom rolls)
Add the meat
Top with the onions and peppers
Add more cheese (I used Gouda)
Add more mayo to the bottom of the top slider rolls
Cover baking dish with foil, bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted
While the sliders are baking lets make the garlic butter
Melt 2-4 tablespoons of butter
Chop fresh parsley and add to the melted butter, add crushed garlic, stir
After the cheese is melted, remove foil and brush the garlic butter on top of the rolls
Bake for another 5-8 minutes until the tops are golden brown
Let the sliders sit for a few minutes before slicing and serving
Enjoy!
